EVSC partners with AmeriQual for meal kits to local children instead of grab 'n' go meals

In an effort to provide more students with safe, secure meals, the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. has partnered with AmeriQual Group to distribute free meal kits to local children.

Along with helping minimize the stress of food service workers and volunteers, the partnership will also reach more students throughout the district. Both the EVSC and the food service company will assist with the production, packaging and administering of meal kits for children 18 and under throughout the community.

With his family members in need of food, Andre Glein, 15, rode his full-size tricycle from his home to Glenwood Leadership Academy Wednesday afternoon.

He leaned in his seat, waiting patiently between a line of vehicles that stretched blocks away from the school's back entrance. Even after the school ran out of the 336 meal kits prepared for local families, he continued to wait until more food arrived and he was handed the three meal kits needed to split between his family members.
